December Streets

Formed by 5 students from Tuks who met during 2009-2010, December Streets was originally a project started by lead singer Tristan Coetzee. After many line-up changes due to university pressures, the original band was reduced to just Tristan Coetzee and Gideon Meyer (bass) During auditions for an inter-hostel band competition he met with future lead guitarist Nico van Loggerenberg and drummer Corneil Clasen. Later, trumpet player Waldo Boshoff was brought on board. The newly reformed band quickly gained a following among students in their hometown of Pretoria, and afterwards achieving nation-wide reach with their first single proceeded to launch an EP.
